-Name: Adele Bastille
-Age: 25
-Gender: Female
-Rank: State Alchemist; General. "Copy Cat Alchemist".
-Alchemy Type: Her alchemy is as it is described. Her entire body is tattoo'd in transmutation circles. The main focus of her alchemy is that just by stepping into the shadow of an enemy, and quickly exiting of course, she can "copy" or "memorize" their alchemy or abilities for a short period of time while adding her own little flare to it. Depending on how weak or strong the enemy is, she can either control it for a short amount of time, or completely manipulate it for the duration of a battle. Her also alchemy allows her to step into the shadow and momentarily take control over the actions of her enemy. However, if the enemy is too strong, they can catch her in the act and reverse her alchemy upon herself.
-Appearance: Adele's appearance isn't very special. Her hair is short, and a dark maroon color. Her eyes are red however. She wears the state alchemist uniform almost always, but often has the jacket off as it is very hot where she works. Underneath is a gray t-shirt. Outside of work, she tends to just stick to regular outfits consisting of pants and tight t-shirts. Personal philosophy? "Why get dressed up, if you're just going to get dirty". But that's not to say she's shabby in looks or appearances. She's attractive, thin but muscular, and can hold her own. However, it's just her drab personality that doesn't attract people much...
(picture to come soon!)
Personality: Adele is very calm and collected. Her nature is very intellectual, so naturally she's quite and reserved. The only thing she even remotely cracks her stony exterior with is music; taker her to a good orchestra, and she sure as hell gets giddy! She LOVES music (her mother played violin in a local group when she was younger). She's loyal to friends, and is very kindly to family. Otherwise, she's somewhat distant. Always with a sleepy look in her eyes, as if she's bored. Which she is, most of the time...she never turns down a challenge, as a result. She doesn't like to draw attention to herself, despite her position. She prefers to stay in the background, hence why when with her partners Horus and Treas of "the Triad", she tends to let them do most of the decision making while she tends to deal with matters of war. But that's not to say she's a bad leader- she is very kindly to her people, and would lay her life on the line for them. However, due to numerous trust-violations by "friends", and the assasination of her dear friend Jaques (former leader of the Eastern Triad), she has become emotionally closed-off to others in an attempt to push away her mental scarring from the incident.
History:
(TL;DR. You don't have to read if you don't want :P I just love writing~)
Adele comes from a backwater town not quite near, but not quite far from Amestris (just far enough where the land turns to desert near Ishbal). It was very poor, and had little resources, but Adele was happy here with her older brother Luxus and her parents (Beatrice and Jean who was a proud military officer). Adele had a passion for music, often enjoying listening to her mother play the violin. Much to her amusement, her mother had been invited to play with a professional orchestra in Amestris where she got to see her first-ever symphony in concert. It was, single-handedly, the best day in her life. Her brother and her had a rocky relationship, however, and he often picked on her. She was a very emotional child, and cried easily, which he would often taunt her about ("Gonna cry again, baby?").
Disaster struck the town, however, when Ishbalans in seek of shelter invaded the town during the war, and burned everything in sight. The town was burned to ashes, and everyone in it killed. While her father defended their house valiantly, he was shot to the ground. In an attempt to save him, Adele ran to push him out of the way for the next bullet to come, but ended up being shot in the eye. The bullet was aimed poorly, however, and missed her brain barely, exiting out of the back of her skull. Soon after, Amestrian troops came to aid the town, and drove off the Ishbalans. Adele was saved, just barely, from bleeding to death. Luxus, who survived alongside his sister, secretly blames her for it--even if only because she was the only one he COULD blame.
From here, Adele left the small town for good. Her brother, deciding against traveling with his sister whom he secretly resented, went in the opposite direction. Adele wandered for days, from town to town, until finally settling in Central. It was hard to make ends meet as a 10 year old living alone in a city, but she was kindly taken in by a homeless shelter. She lived here peacefully, choosing to block out the memories of the massacre for her own sanity, and at one point forgot all-together she had a brother to begin with. It is speculated that the bullet may have grazed her brain, where memory is stored, and as such she has a hard time remembering things from her past. At this point in time, after spending time in Central (at least 8 years, which would make her 18), she met a man named Greed after getting caught in a scuffle with men in a dark alley near a bar called the Devil's Nest. He didn't save her, but showed up after she was beaten down and laughed at her.
"Girl, you sure are unlucky to be caught by them...and now by me."
He asked her if she wanted to be better then this--then a dog in the alleyways. She said yes. He suggested her to the Military, which she quickly went through with, never considering he was sending her to her death ("Father'll kill her anyways, if she's from THAT place..."). Here, she was given the resources to experiment with technology. After discovering she had somewhat of a knack for these things, she immediately went to work on building automail for herself. She built an automail eye for her damaged one. Unsuccessful the first few tries, she finally made a perfect one that allowed her to see properly. Astonished by the possibilities, she began to research into alchemy. She was instantly fascinated, and took up the slow process of tattooing her entire body in transmutation circles. During an experiment with teleportation mixed with alchemy, however, she ran into an accident and ended up severing both of her legs from the knee down. Incapacitated only momentarily, she built automail legs and moved on (the legs are her biggest weakness, as she hastily built them in order to get back to research. they were messily done, and she has yet to do any major re hauling on them aside from re-sizing). During this time, she had many encounters with Greed, but when he suddenly disappeared, she didn't take much notice.
She soon tried out for State Alchemist, and was granted the position. She was stationed on the borders of Ishbala and Amestris, and was discovered to be a marvelous tactician. After proving herself for the next two years, she was quickly transferred into the new city of Realis (on the border of Xing and Amestris); a city so big, that it is ruled under three powerful generals: Jacques (east), Horus(West), and Treas(Central). After another year or working up the ranks, she became second-in-command to Jacques. Jacques was someone she admired greatly, despite the large age difference and was very close with him; some might have said she even fell in love with him at one point. A year later, however, Jacques as assassinated by an angry revolutionist. The best action, as seen by Fuhrer, was to promote the second-in-command. As such, she became the Third in the Triad, leading over the East as General.
And this is currently where she is now. However, she seems to still have some ties to Greed and the hommunculi, but she refuses to comment on the matter.
Recently, however, she has been seen frequently making trips to Central. But for what purpose?
