Sam yawned, eyelids beginning to droop. She had to shuffle herself not only to not drop any of the paperwork and files she was handed, but to keep herself awake. "Well, it's pretty late. I don't see any sense in starting now, we'll just end up falling asleep. I say (OOC: at the risk of sounding like an afterschool special xD) we all go to bed and get a fresh start in the morning." Her gaze darted back and forth between Edward and Alexandria. Unsure if Alex was even paying attention, she continued anyway, mostly to Edward. "Want to meet at the library tomorrow morning?"
(Sorry this took so long. xD; I haven't been on much lately.)

While the original thought to leave right away had crossed her mind, Alexandria felt she deserved to complain to her superior for the unfairness of her current assignment. If she could just convince him that there were plenty of other soldiers who would be more capable - meaning not wanting to lose their jobs- than herself. So for now, she turned back, facing both Sam and Edward. "Great, you two plan on how this is going to be approached, and I'll be right back."
Edward's golden hued orbs gave a glance to Alex before returning to Sam. "That sounds like a good idea, Anything is better than spending all night here." His weight was shifted onto his other side while he stood, to try and keep the weight he used to hold the papers balanced. "There is no way I want to spend more time then needed on all this paperwork..."

"Neither do I," Sam replied with a half-smile. She glanced at Alex for a moment, and could only wonder what she was going to do to Roy to get back at him for this assignment. The thought made her smile, but she found herself somehow reluctantly feeling sorry for him.
"Right," she said to Edward. "So you let Lt. Matthews know we're meeting at the library tomorrow morning. I'll meet you guys around 10." Normally she would've told Alex herself, but she loved to see them quarrel. Their relationship proved entertaining for those around them.
(xD She's just doing this for her own amusement now lol.)

Alex's hand wrapped around the doorknob, pulling it harshly to practically rip the door open from it's hinges. Of course, she's not quite THAT strong. It was just enough for dramatic effect, she walked into her superior's office (More like stomped) and slammed the door shut behind her.
Edward watched her go, and turned back to Sam. "Why do I have to tell her? That's not fair.." He pouted childishly, giving a small huff of air.

Sam chuckled innocently at Ed's reaction. "Because you know her better!... Or at least, have known her longer... see ya!" She took the opportunity to make her leave. As she was reaching the door, she waved and called back to Ed, "Be sure to go to bed soon and get a good night's rest! It's gonna be a long day tomorrow!" And with that, she slammed the door swiftly behind her. One would assume she was in a hurry to get to sleep. However, unbeknownst to everyone else, Sam's next stop wasn't her inn...
Roy flinched very slightly as the door slammed open. Without even looking up from his desk, he called to Alex, "May I help you with something, Scarlet?" Roy was rarely ever found doing work, however he had a rather large workload accumulated so he figured he'd try to get some it done now. He had an open file on his desk and he was jotting down notes on random papers. His jacket was hanging over the back of his chair, and he was wearing a white, collared, button-up shirt.

"Yeah.. you too!" He called after her after she shut the door. He rubbed his hand through his long golden blond locks, sighing heavily. "Maybe I should've asked her if she wanted to get something to eat first in the morning.. Or maybe that's coming on too strong..?" (aww Eddy >> )Edward sighed, dumping all the papers remaining in his arms onto the table by his side. "Either way... I'll just leave a note for Lt. Matthews so I can go ahead and leave too."
The female walked swiftly across the room, slamming her hands against his desk for dramatic effect as she leaned forward angrily. Her deep red hair had fallen slightly from the ponytail, cascading past her shoulders, falling forward slightly while she leaned. "This is absurd, I wonder if you even have a soul sometimes, Mustang. To put me on an assignment like this... It's INSULTING!"

Roy suddenly stopped and looked up at her with a serious expression. "Insulting? I beg your pardon Lieutenant, but this assignment is necessary to our investigation. If you think this has anything to do with your rank or status, you're wrong. We simply need people to fill in for jobs others are unable to do. A large part of our staff has either been critically injured or killed due to these two marauders, and other incidents as well. We chose FullMetal and Starlight because they want to prove themselves to be just as good as the adults. We chose you because we know you can handle it, and we know you can cover any mistakes they may make. They're very skilled, but they are also still learning." He paused for a moment, and then smirked at her. "Besides, if you can show that you can be mature about the situation and do well with this assignment, you may prove yourself to be improving as well. You don't want to stay a Lieutenant forever, after all, do you Scarlet?"

Alexandria couldn't help but have her resolve weakened by the male's speech. He had a way with words, she would give him that for sure. "But still..." Her voice was quieter this time, still resting her palms against his desk, leaning forward.
"This isn't the kind of thing I signed up for when I joined the military. I wanted to make a difference, and I don't think whether or not I can clean up the mistakes of someone is going to make much of a difference. If we catch who does this, because of the paperwork alone isn't going to change anything.." The female pulled away then, holding her left elbow with her right hand, frowning. "You're going to be the one noticed, because you were the one who started the 'group' in the first place. What's going to get me where I need is to be out there on the field, actually hunting down this guy."
Her weight had shifted to her other leg, and her body switched positions while her hands went to her hair, to push back some of it slightly. "That's the kind of stuff I'll get noticed for, and move up past Lieutenant."

Roy sighed and placed his hand on his head. "It'll all come in due time, Scarlet. You should trust that your superior knows what he's doing." He pushed his papers aside for a moment and laid his pencil down on his desk. Stretching, yawning, and then cracking his fingers, he looked at her again and said, "Once you three get the guesswork done, we can take action. No one is to go after the assassin until we've gathered more information on him. This applies to everyone, including you."

The female heaved a sigh, turning away from him then. "Fine.. whatever.. I guess I'll be back bright and early. Ruining all my beauty sleep and everything." Her arms folded behind her back, and she pretended to ignore him then for the moment as she thought out loud, gazing at the ceiling. "Maybe I'll just come without wearing the uniform since I'm on assignment.. ((Ooc: And I TOTALLY know at this point he was probably thinking she was going to come naked.)) Oooh.. That sounds nice.. Something more comfortable for sure..."

Roy muttered, "I have a few sugge--." And before he could even finish his sentence, Riza was standing behind him with her cocked gun placed to his head. "Uh... nevermind," he muttered and continued his paperwork.

( xDD She got him whipped >> )
She yawned, and started off towards the door. "G'night Lt. Hawkeye." Alexandria spoke, completely 'forgetting' to say goodnight to her superior. But it was quite obvious she had no intention to, and with another swift movement, the door opened and slammed shut behind her.

Riza nodded and smiled. "Good night, Lt. Matthews," she echoed as Alexandria walked out the door.
Roy sighed and looked at his paperwork that had piled up. "... I think I'll finish this up tomorrow."
"But sir," Riza interjected, "it needs to be turned in in two days."
"Which is why it will get done tomorrow," Roy said as he rose from his chair, getting ready to take his leave as well.
Riza sighed and shook her head at him reluctantly.
(Ok now we're going to Alex walking down the street right??)

(( Yes ma'am. Should we have Takai attack or what exactly should happen that would cause her to see her?- Er.. Him. ))
Once the female had left the building, she started her semi-long trek back to where she lived for the momentary time. Her hands shoved into the pockets of the uniform's pants. The familiar, and comforting clicking of the holster containing her guns hitting the side of her hip was the only thing heard to her other than her boots connecting with the ground.

(You just let me worry about that, kitten. ;D Lol.)
There was a quiet rumbling noise in an alleyway nearby. The sound of metal trash cans clanking against one another echoed out into the open street, followed by the yowling of a stray cat. A shadow rushed by and into the back of the alley, then there was silence.
A figure cloaked in darkness leaned against the cool bricks of a dark building, feeling the heat escape its body. Sweat and blood dripped off of the figure and made a small splatter onto the pavement. The figure was panting heavily, while trying to remain in a hushed tone.
